It's Fall, Y'all. Or Is It Winter?
Not talking about the weather, but the market.
With high gas prices and high interest rates and high relative home values, can deals even be done?
The answer is a resounding yes, if you approach the situation with eyes wide open and take account of today's market. (As we wrote here last month, the market doesn't care what anyone thinks.)
The overall residential market in the U.S. is in what has been called a stagnant period. The number of residential housing units sold this year is on track to be about four million units nationwide, in comparison with over six million in 2021 at the height of the low interest rate environment.
The bottom line is that good deals are out there for buyers and sellers who adjust their expectations to the current realities of the market.
